Rhea Art Show

Dear PSSD Community,

Shane Paschall
April is an exciting and event-filled month at PSSD! We are looking forward to a magical Night Under the Stars at PES and celebrating our youngest students in the Rhea PreK and Kindergarten Fish Fry Parade. As we continue learning, students will also be working hard during TNReady State Testing. Spring sports are in full swing, with baseball, softball, golf and boys soccer bringing lots of energy and Bulldog pride. We’ll also join our community in celebrating the World’s Biggest Fish Fry.

It’s a great time to be part of PSSD!

Attendance Matters

As we get closer to TCAP testing, having students at school every day makes a difference. These next few weeks at school are full of review, practice, and support that helps students feel ready for assessments. If students miss, even a day or two, it’s easy for them to fall out of rhythm. We appreciate your help in making attendance a priority so your child can finish the year strong.

Please reach out to me if you have any attendance questions.

PSSD Celebrates a Successful Read Across America Day

Paris Special School District recently enjoyed a wonderful celebration of Read Across America Day, filled with excitement, creativity, and a shared love of reading. Classrooms across the district welcomed a variety of guest readers who took time to engage students with stories, bringing books to life in a meaningful way.

In addition to special visitors, many students stepped into the role of reader themselves, sharing their favorite books with younger classes. This not only built confidence, but also created a sense of connection and inspiration among students of all ages.

The day was filled with smiles, laughter, and memorable moments that highlighted the joy reading can bring. Events like these play an important role in fostering a lifelong love of reading—an essential foundation for learning and growth.

Paris Special School District is proud to continue encouraging literacy in fun and engaging ways, making Read Across America Day a true success for everyone involved.

Rhea Elementary Shines with “Welcome to the Jungle” Glow Art Show

Rhea Elementary recently hosted a wildly successful Glow Art Show, bringing the theme “Welcome to the Jungle” to life in a truly unforgettable way. The hallway was transformed into a vibrant, glowing gallery, filled with incredible student artwork that captured the imagination and creativity of every young artist.

Families showed up in great numbers, with hundreds attending the special evening event to admire the dazzling displays. The glowing artwork created an exciting and immersive experience, making it a night full of wonder, pride, and celebration for both students and their families.

This memorable event would not have been possible without the dedication and creativity of the 1st grade teachers, whose hard work helped bring the vision to life. Their efforts created an experience that students will remember for years to come.

A special thank you also goes to PLUS for providing the funding that made this event possible. The Rhea Glow Art Show was truly a shining success and a wonderful example of creativity and community coming together.
