Dear PSSD Community,

Shane Paschall
March is a fun and busy month at PSSD! We are excited to celebrate Read Across America, enjoy the creativity on display at the 1st Grade Art Show, and spend time together at the PES Spring Cookout. Spring Break is also right around the corner and will be a great time for our students and staff to rest and recharge. Spring sports are in full swing, with baseball, softball, and boys soccer bringing lots of energy and school spirit. We look forward to a great month filled with learning, fun, and Bulldog pride!

Attendance Matters

This quote is taken from the Nation Center for Educational Data (https://nces.ed.gov/pubs2009/attendancedata/chapter1a.asp): "Teacher effectiveness is the strongest school-related determinant of student success, but chronic student absence reduces even the best teacher's ability to provide learning opportunities."

Thank you to everyone who ensures your child makes it to school, on time, every day.

Also, as a reminder, students in grades 2-8 will be taking benchmark assessments soon. These assessments are an important gauge of how students are doing on the standards that have been taught to this point. They are also important so that teachers can make future instructional decisions.

As always, please reach me at (731) 642-9322 ext. 3 or message me via ParentSquare if you need anything.

CTE/STEAM Night at IMS Huge Success

Inman Middle School's CTE/STEAM Night was nothing short of AMAZING — and it’s all thanks to the dedication, creativity, and passion of our outstanding educators and students.

Our CTE teachers work tirelessly to create hands-on, engaging experiences that prepare students for college, careers, and beyond. CTE + STEAM Night was a shining example of that commitment. From innovative projects to interactive demonstrations, our students had the opportunity to showcase the skills they’ve been building in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.

Our students confidently presented their work, explained their thinking, demonstrated problem-solving skills, and truly impressed everyone in attendance. Their creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking were on full display — and it was clear that meaningful learning is happening every day in our CTE classrooms.

Way to go, IMS students and staff!

Olympians in Training at Rhea

Our students at Rhea recently had the exciting opportunity to “train for the Olympics” during P.E. class in celebration of the Olympic Games! Students rotated through a variety of fun, high-energy stations designed to mimic real Olympic events,. Not only did they build strength and coordination, but they also learned about teamwork, perseverance, and good sportsmanship—just like true Olympians. It was a fun and inspiring way to stay active while celebrating the spirit of the Games!

Thank you to Mr. Springer and Mrs. Kim for providing such a great experience for our students!

PSSD Celebrated Black History Month

Throughout the month of February, Paris Special School District proudly celebrated Black History Month with meaningful learning experiences across all grade levels. Students participated in special writing projects, creative crafts, engaging lessons, and in-depth research activities that highlighted the achievements, contributions, and lasting impact of influential Black leaders, innovators, artists, and changemakers throughout history.

Classrooms were filled with thoughtful discussions and hands-on projects that encouraged students to reflect on themes of perseverance, equality, and leadership. Many classes also welcomed special guest speakers who shared personal stories, historical insights, and words of encouragement, helping bring history to life in powerful and memorable ways.

Through these activities, students not only expanded their knowledge but also strengthened their appreciation for diversity, culture, and the importance of honoring the voices and accomplishments that have shaped our nation. Black History Month was a wonderful opportunity for our district to learn, celebrate, and grow together.
