One of the goals for each school in the PSSD is to provide our students with excellent learning opportunities. Due to the current health issues facing our community, PES has two virtual learning environments. It is vital to understand that these two learning environments are to be used for different learning needs of our students.
Temporary Virtual Learning is designed for students who will miss 5 days or fewer. Possible reasons for Temporary Virtual Learning could include COVID 19 Quarantine, other illnesses, family issues, school discipline, or specific situations approved by the school principal. Students must provide documented evidence from medical personnel or by parent request. All inquiries should be addressed to Dr. Gray for permission to take part in the program. In this setting, students should be able to access pre-recorded lessons and corresponding activities through their academic teacher’s Microsoft Teams pages. It is the responsibility of the students to watch the videos and complete the corresponding assignments, otherwise students will be counted as absent.
PES Virtual Academy is designed for students who know that they will miss 6 days or more of school. Students in this situation must request to be enrolled through Dr. Gray or Joey Brush. In this setting, students will check in with Mrs. Cate twice a day via their grade level virtual academy Microsoft Team. All of their videos or assignments can still be accessed through their academic teacher’s Microsoft Teams pages. They will continue through their academic courses using the Virtual Academy schedule on a daily basis.
