Important Information:

*Reading Celebration/Kindergarten Parade/Field Day/Spring Cookout is scheduled for April 26^th. Two BLUE handouts were sent home in the front pocket of your child’s planner on Monday with the scheduled times for each event. Our class will be busy from, 8:30-9:00 (K parade), 9:00-11:15 (Field Day rotations/restroom), and 11:30-12:00 (Lunch-bring blanket to sit on). If you wish to come enjoy the activities with your child, you will need to be here from 8:30-12:00. Your child will have regular dismissal, but if you choose to take your child with you at this time, you will need to check him/her out in the front office. You will be more than welcome to stay for the rest of the day. Our class will be competing in relay races of our own!

*Extra Parade/Reading Celebration info:

1. Parade starts at 8:30 in the front of the school on Thursday! Don’t come to the classroom unless you have talked to me; find a spot to watch the parade. I sent a note home yesterday stating the parade route.

2. Your child should wear jeans or shorts and tennis shoes. They will change into their parade shirts at school. If it is extra sunny and your child burns easy, you may want to go ahead and put sunscreen on him or her.

3. Field day activities will begin after the parade.

4. If you want to help, please contact PTO or the school office.

* We have been watching our 5 caterpillars grow. 4 of them are already at the top of the container and are beginning to make their cocoons. We will have butterflies in a couple of weeks. We are EXCITED!

*The last STAR Early Literacy test and DRA testing (reading level) will be done the week of April 30^th–May 4^th. Please encourage your child to do his/her very best! These final scores for Kindergarten go with them to 1^st grade!

*K Music Program – Tuesday, May 1^st at 6pm – KPAC at Paris Elementary School – Our class will wear SOLID brown, tan, or white T-shirts with jeans or shorts and TENNIS SHOES. Please make sure there is not any writing on the shirt.

*Promotion Day/Awards day – May 15^th Our class will have the award presentation in the gym sometime that morning. (Your child will be meeting his/her 1^st grade teacher that afternoon.) Parents are welcome to come in the morning and walk down to our room after awards in the gym for surprises from ME! Parents will not be able to stay after the special in our room.

*Can you believe there are only 17 more days of Kindergarten?
