ENRICHMENT FUND INFORMATION:

 

The YOUTH FOR THE ARTS Committee is offering financial assistance for: meaningful projects both in the classroom and in the community, private lessons for undergraduate level students, capital expenses (i.e. keyboards, lighting, microphones, paint supplies,etc), bringing artists into the schools to provide workshops, art related field trips, and endeavors that further a youth’s art education.

 Grand Total for over the past three years: $29,900.63

 

 

 

Applications are available at the Paris-Henry County Arts Council office, located in the City Hall building, or online at www.phcarts.com

 

First application deadline: March 1, 2012. The Youth for the Arts Enrichment Fund granted $9,552.73 to local students and organizations through their March Grant, bringing their total awarded over the past three years to $29,900.63 The major recipient of those funds was the Henry County High School Band Program receiving funds for the purchase of a new $4,000 Marimba. Since the Spring of 2011 the group has awarded $24,609.17 to over 40 recipients. For a list of students, organizations and projects that have been funded contact the Arts Council Office.

 

The board awarded $9,552.73 to 15 recipients. The recipients for Spring 2012, in no particular order, are: Jakob Womack, Music City Drum and Bugle Corps; HCHS Band, Marimba for percussion section; Charlie Raymer, Piano lessons; Dakota Noble, Piano lessons; Rhea School, Art classes for 2 weeks; Krislen Sherrill, New York Theatre Camp; Bradley Johnson, Piano lessons; Brian Johnson, Piano lessons; Lauren Young, HCHS Band trip; Wesley Williams, HCHS Band trip; Hailey Frizzell, HCHS Band trip; Anna DiVito, Theatre Camp and Piano lessons; Shylamar Haley, Piano lessons; Lydia Shoemaker, Vocal Motion tuition; and Adam Dellinger, Camp Renaissance.

 

Second application deadline: July 1, 2012.

 *Due to 4th of July holiday, recipients will not be notified until the week of July 9.*

 

Third application deadline: November 1, 2012.

It is the intent of the Youth for the Arts Board, through the Enrichment Fund, to engage youth in learning more about the arts, empowering them to grow as individuals and providing them with opportunities for self-expression.
