As part
of this year’s music curriculum, 4th grade students will be learning
to play the flutophone. A flutophone
is a pre-band instrument that is used to introduce music reading and
appreciation.
Below is a copy of the letter that
will be sent home to be signed and returned before your child will be given a flutophone to play:

RE:
Music/Flutophone
Dear
Parent/Guardian:
As part of this year’s music curriculum, your
child will be learning to play the flutophone. The flutophone presents a wonderful opportunity to introduce
music reading and appreciation. I hope that by giving the students a positive,
enjoyable learning experience they will be encouraged to develop a lifelong
interest in music.
The school
has purchased a flutophone for each student; however,
your child must EARN the
right to keep it by consistently participating in
class while maintaining a positive attitude, satisfactory (S) conduct and a grade, in
music, no lower than a “B”. I ask that you be aware of this as your
child’s parent/guardian and discuss this with him/her. Please read, sign, and
return the bottom
portion
of this letter to me. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to
contact me at school: 642-3675 ext. 3631 or minette.veazey@parisssd.org I appreciate your support.
Thank
you,
Minette
Veazey
