Second Grade Scoop:

Important Dates:

· There will be an AR Day on Tuesday, January 31^st from 4:00 to 5:30.

· There will be an AR Day on Thursday, February 2^nd from 3:30 to 5:00.

· Our Elegant Dinner and Spring Pictures will be on Thursday, February 16^th.

· There will be No School on Monday, February 20^th, for Presidents’ Day.

· Wednesday, February 29^th will be Read Across America Day and Wacky Wednesday.

**I will start working on a schedule for guest readers soon. If you would like to come read to our class that day, please let me know.

Spelling words for next week will focus on –qu, –scr and –thr.

Please study with these words with your child.

We will begin continue to study measurement next week in math. I will send a ruler home with your child a couple of nights; please ask them to measure things for you!

I apologize for the chaotic week that we had… My son got sick on Wednesday morning so I had to stay at home with him for a couple of days. My absence was unexpected, but I am very proud of the report that the sub left – she said I had a great class!!!

Thank you for understanding when things are not on our usual routine – your child did a great job this week!
