I’m in my 18th year as
school guidance counselor here at Rhea.
I am a graduate of Union City High School and graduated from UT Martin
with a B.S. in social work and M.S. +30 hrs. in
Education, with an emphasis on educational psychology and guidance. I am certified as a school counselor and
school social worker and have completed the required hours for administrator
certification.
At W.G. Rhea, we provide a
counseling program where we strive to provide the knowledge, guidance and
support needed so that every student will have a successful and enriching
school experience.
Services provided by our
counseling program include classroom guidance lessons, where students learn about
good character, making choices, social skills, healthy habits/wellness,
personal safety and career awareness. We also provide individual guidance and
small group guidance when needed.
I love working with this age
group as they are very receptive and eager to learn. My door is always open to
students, parents and staff.
Thanks,
Ms. Sylvia
