Kindergarten Grading System

As you will notice, your child has a “smiley face” on papers that are checked by the teacher. We have developed a system that should help you understand your child’s level of achievement on papers that are completed in the classroom.

A Blue smile means a perfect paper!

This is a paper that your child did completely on their own with no mistakes or teacher assistance.

A Red smile means nearly perfect.

This is a paper that your child had a little trouble with, but was able to correct mistakes on their own with some teacher assistance.

A Yellow smile means good try.

This is a paper that your child had some trouble with and needed a lot of teacher assistance.

Please review your child’s papers and assist them in practicing the work that was completed incorrectly.
