Read to Me

"Read to Me" is offered to families of preschool children who will someday attend Rhea Elementary School. This program emphasizes reading as a means of developing language, concentration, attention span and memory. Age appropriate books are color coded for infants, crawlers, toddlers and preschoolers. Books are available for checkout during regular office hours at the center located at Rhea School, 115 South Wilson Street, Paris,TN.

This service is also available to Licensed Home Care Centers located in our district. Packets of age appropriate books will be distributed each month to those centers wishing to participate.

A National School Board goal for America's children states that "All children in America will start school ready to learn," and includes in its objectives that "Every parent in America will be a child's first teacher and devote time each day helping his or her preschool child learn; parents will have access to the training and support they need."

The goal of the Enrichment Center is"

o    To provide the materials and training necessary to the PSSD parents for kindergarten preparation

o    To promote parents as their child's first and most important teachers
