of Rhea PTO is to HELP, SUPPORT and ENCOURAGE the students of W.G. Rhea. This is a listing of all of the events PTO sponsors
and helps coordinate parent/school involvement.
We hope to see you at PTO events and help bring a smile to our student’s
faces!

February 16 - Spring Pictures

Students
will have their portraits taken by Life-Touch Photography twice a year. Yearbook pictures are taken in the fall and
class pictures will be taken in the Spring.
We need you
to: Volunteer to help students.
Complete
paperwork for teachers.
Help keep pictures running on
time.
February 16 – Elegant Dinner

Dinner
Dressed
in formal attire (or Sunday best), students are joined by local dignitaries to
enjoy a special dinner. They will dine
in a beautifully decorated cafeteria while listening to a professional
musician. (Spring pictures are also
taken on this day.)
We need you
to: Volunteer to help serve students and
teachers.

April 26 - Field Day/ Reading Celebration/KG

A
celebration of the students’ efforts at exceeding their reading goals, our
students enjoy a day full of play!
Games, food and other fun are in store!

May 8 - Teacher Appreciation Day

Appreciation Week
A
national event, Teacher Appreciation Week is a time during which we show our
teachers just how awesome we think they are!
Various meals, surprises, gifts, etc. are provided each day of the week.
We need you
to: Volunteer to help with lunch
according to grade level.
Show teachers our
appreciation.
(May 7-11 – Teacher Appreciation Week)
May 12 – 2nd Annual Rhea 5K
5K @ Rhea
PTO
will sponsor a 5K run/1 mile fun walk.
Come with your family and enjoy the race.

to: Volunteer to help during the race.
Participate in the race.
Other Ways
to Be Participate Year-round:

Be a room parent! Room parents are responsible for coordinating
Fall and Spring parties with the other parents in the
room each year. As the year passes, you
may find other special things you’d like to do for your teacher and students,
but the two primary responsibilities are the parties.

by Principal Scott Owens prior to distribution.
