Preschool in a Bag

"Preschool in a Bag" is offered to parents of children who will be four years old by September 30^th. Each month, September through May, materials will be "bagged" and made available at the center, which is located at Rhea School, 115 South Wilson Street, Paris, TN. Activities will include such things as: stories, puzzles, mazes, matching, coloring sheets, colors, shapes, numbers, name recognition, writing activities, social development skills, and physical activities. We feel this is an enriching way for parents to spend time with their children and share ago appropriate materials with them. It will also help establish an early connection between families and our school system.

A National School Board goal for America's children states that "All children in America will start school ready to learn," and includes in its objectives that "Every parent in America will be a child's first teacher and devote time each day helping his or her preschool child learn; parents will have access to the training and support they need."

The goal of the Enrichment Center is"

o To provide the materials and training necessary to the PSSD parents for kindergarten preparation

o To promote parents as their child's first and most important teachers
