Patriot Pals

In 1999, Rhea Elementary began a new program designed to bring together the wisdom of high school students and the wonder of our elementary students. The project that came out of that is our program called Patriot Pals.

Student athletes, musicians, and honor students from Henry County High School, the Patriots, come to our school once a month to visit with a classroom that has been assigned to them. The elementary students look forward to this visit as the high school students are like role models or big brothers and sisters to them.

The high school students prepare motivational words that encourage Rhea students to develop a strong character within themselves. This year we are tying each month's visit with our monthly "Character Counts" themes. Some of these themes include having good manners, being responsible, and being respectful.

The staff at Rhea school is confident that the Patriot Pals program is beneficial to all students, both young and old!
