Me in Kindergarten!
Hello
Friends! I am Mrs. Angie. I will be your music teacher at Rhea School
for Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade! I love teaching and I
especially love teaching early elementary aged children!
I
have been teaching at Rhea since 1994. I
graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music
Education in 1994 and again in 2003 with my Master’s Degree in Music Education. My instrument of choice was voice. I sing mezzo-soprano. But I also have played piano since I was
five years old. And I dabbled in the flute, oboe, and percussion in school band
as well.
I
have always loved to perform and sing for others. And I always loved to “play school.” My God-given talent was obvious to me at an
early age – teaching kids and anything in music. So I decided to combine the two.
I
LOVE my job! I LOVE my kids! (All 614 of you!)
I feel extremely blessed to work at Rhea School in my chosen profession.
J
My
hobbies: I like to learn new things. So I am always reading. I especially enjoy
trivia and things that make me think and consider new ways to look at things. I
am the technology coach and web master for Rhea School. This does not mean that I am a tech “guru,”
but that I really enjoy the challenge of fixing a tech problem, even if I have
to read to figure out how to do it.
I
love to travel. I especially love to travel to Walt Disney World in Orlando,
Florida! I try to go at least once a year. I visited Washington, D.C. recently.
I think all Americans should go there at least once! It was incredible! I have
also been to the Carribean several times, and I love it there.
I
enjoy mentoring young people, no matter what their age. I believe we all need some mentors and
coaches in our lives to help us grow strong both spiritually and physically.
