1.   Teacher completes Parts A and B of the  Teacher Reflection and Growth Plan.  (Teachers should meet with their grade levels to discuss the rubric and identify potential evidences.)  Teacher submits the Reflection and Growth Plan to the principal or lead evaluator on his or her specified due date.

2.   Principal or lead evaluator reviews Parts A and B of the Refection and Growth Plan that the teacher has submitted, then comments on part B and returns to teacher.

3.   Teacher completes Part C of the Reflection and Growth Plan.

4.   Teacher and principal or lead evaluator meet to review the Reflection and Growth Plan.

5.   Teacher Reflection and Growth Plan is submitted by principal or lead evaluator for the summative observation.

6.   Principal and the second designated observer (assistant principal, Dr. Gerrell, Mrs. Wagner) will complete an observation using the walk-through rubric for Stage 2 teachers.

7.   Teacher must submit one lesson plan during the year to show evidence for Domain One: Knowledge of the Planning Process.  The plan can be uploaded at any time during the year and does not have to be related to one of the walk-through observations. Use this plan. Or this one.

8.   Teacher will have a minimum of four 15 minute unannounced walk-through observations throughout the school year.  (Two walk-through observations will be completed each semester.)

9.   Each time a teacher is observed, the principal or lead evaluator will request evidence (if needed) within 24 hours.  This allows for feedback to be provided to the teacher within 5 days.

10.               Teachers should add artifacts as evidence to support the walk-through observations to the Teacher Compass.  (Click here for a tutorial on entering evidences as artifacts into Teacher Compass.)   Teachers should focus only on providing evidence for those domains identified in the Growth Plan and/or major discrepancies between the teacher’s self reflection and the lead evaluator’s scores.  The lead evaluator may also ask you for specific evidence after one of the walk through observations.

11.               Teacher will download the Individual Professional Development Log of Activities.  Teacher should keep a log of all PD activities throughout the school year.  This is due to principal upon request.

12.               (Optional: Principal may opt for an additional observation to gather additional evidence or may have a 30-minute teacher interview.)

13.               At the end of the process, the principal will review all evidence of effectiveness and ensure the process has been followed.  The principal and designated evaluator will complete the Summative Evaluation for the School Year which includes an overall qualitative proficiency level, a quantitative score and recommended stage for next year. The principal will document the teacher’s overall effectiveness rating (1-5).

14.               The principal will hold a summative conference with the teacher.

TIGER is a living document and process.  The process could be modified from year to year to better suit the needs of all parties involved.
