DRA Results (Mid-Year Progress Report)
Dear Parent,
Your child has recently completed the Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA). This is an assessment used to monitor our students’ progress toward grade level expectations. We use this information to customize instruction to the needs of our students.
The DRA Is conducted in an individual conference with each child. The teacher is able to gather information regarding a student’s reading ability and use of reading strategies. The DRA results are used to determine a student’s independent reading level, facilitates effective grouping of students for reading, supports the balanced literacy program, and provides immediate information for instructional decision making.
The information below is included to inform you of the recommended levels for DRA results in each grade level at the beginning and end of the school year. Your child’s DRA scores for the current school year are included beneath his or her name.
