The faculty and staff at Inman Middle School recognize that the school alone cannot mold the student into productive citizens. It takes both the parents and teachers communicating and working together to help develop a child's full potential. It is with this in mind that we are constantly striving to provide each child the tools and support for maximum development. We are developing a policy with input and agreement from parents of IMS students, faculty and administration that will help insure each student's success.

Parent/Guardian Agreement

See that my child is punctual and attends school regularly.

See that my child has needed supplies.

Support the school in its efforts to maintain proper discipline

Encourage my child's efforts and be available for questions.

Establish a time and place for study, checking work regularly.

Encourage reading, including the use of library facilities.

Check, discuss, and sign my child’s planner daily.

Teach social skills to promote positive interactions with all and support the school in its efforts to maintain proper discipline.

Agreement to see that child follows proper dress code.

Agreement will be represented on Inman signature sheet.

Student Agreement

Attend school regularly.

Come to school each day with pens, pencils, paper, and other necessary tools for learning.

Complete and return homework assignments.

Observe regular study hours.

Conform to rules of student conduct.

Express questions and concerns to teachers and parents in an appropriate manner.

Agreement to follow proper dress code.

Agreement will be represented on Inman signature sheet.

Teacher/School Agreement

Provide high quality and curriculum and instruction.

Provide appropriate homework assignments for students.

Provide necessary assistance to parents so that they can help with the assignments.

Encourage students and parents by providing information about student progress.

Use special activities in the classroom to make learning enjoyable.

Be accessible to parents and students for concerns and help.

Provide for a safe school environment.

Hold high expectations for every student and staff member.

Communicate with parents through School Messenger System (phone system), newsletters, handbook, and school web site

Listen to student’s questions and concerns.

On or before Parent-Teacher Conference, discuss the Inman Middle School Parent School Compact.

Give frequent and timely progress reports, including six week report cards with three-week interims and test results.

Additional contact will be made as needed.

Provide teacher/school contact information in handbook and on website.

Agreement will be represented on Inman signature sheet.
