Beta membership is not just about making good grades.  Beta membership involves demonstrating good character and making wise decisions.  As a Beta member, students are held to a higher standard as they “lead by serving others,” the motto of Beta.  Beta membership is an honor.  Beta members represent their club, their school, their family, and their community; therefore, it is essential that Betas act in a manner that brings honor to their club, their school, their family, and their community. 

Listed below are the criteria to maintaining active membership in W. O. Inman Beta Club.  Active membership allows Betas to fully participate in all activities, including State Convention and the Spring Outing.  Please read through the following criteria and discuss with your Beta member.  Then, both parent and Beta must initial beside each statement.

		In order to maintain active status as an Inman Jr. Beta Club member, the Beta must earn an “A” or “B” in all classes and earn a “S” in conduct each six weeks grading period.
		If the Beta earns a “C” or an “N” in a class, the Beta member is on academic probation for the following six weeks grading period.  The Beta member must have earned an “A,” “B” or a “S” in conduct the following six weeks in order to become active again.  Should the Beta member earn another “C” or “N” in that same class, the Beta member is removed from membership.  If a Beta member is removed from membership, he/she will have to regain membership by earning all “A’s” and “B’s” and “S’s” in conduct for the next three consecutive six weeks grading periods.
		If a Beta member earns any grade lower than a “C” or an “N” in conduct, he/she is automatically removed from membership and may rejoin after earning all “A’s” and “B’s” and “S’s” in conduct for the next three consecutive six weeks grading periods.
		If a Beta member earns In-School Suspension, the member is suspended for 18 weeks.  The Beta may not participate in outings, meetings, and other Beta activities.
		If a Beta member’s behavior earns Out-of-School Suspension, the member is automatically removed from membership, effective immediately, for one calendar-school year beginning from the date of suspension.

Each six weeks, your teachers and sponsors will review your report cards for continuing membership.  You and your parents will receive a note if you are put on Beta probation or are ineligible for membership.
