I hope you are all having a wonderful summer. Our first summer “Taking It To The Streets” event at Johnson Park was a great success with over 100 people in attendance. “Taking It To The Streets” is a reading and relationship initiative to help strengthen our understanding of how to help our children and how to better understand each other. Thanks to everybody that was able to attend and participate. Our next event is scheduled for Memorial Park on July 29 at 5:30.
Our first day of school is August 7. We will open at 7:30and dismissal this first day will be 12:30. Friday, August 8 is our first FULL day with hours of 7:30-2:45. (All 1st and 2nd grade on the 7th and beyond) (KG girls on the 7th and KG boys on the 8th. ALL students on the 11th.)
Any new K-2 student in to the PSSD and all KG students not already registered will need to come to Rhea on August 1st between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
Students already enrolled will be contacted by their teacher between the dates of July 28 and July 31. Any student unable to be contacted by the teacher must come in on August 1 between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. to register.
Rhea Kg will have a Parent Orientation for parents on August 4 between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. We will start promptly at 8:00.
1st and 2nd grades will have a Parent Orientation also on the 4th but between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. with the start beginning promptly at 5:00.
Our fabulous PTO has been making big plans for the year. Officers are: President Toni Franklin-Parker; Vice-President Krystal Watkins; Secretary Angie Ridgeway; and Treasurer Subo Tusa.
